City Community Church, Exeter - Reaching Out
Reaching Out to others… in Exeter and beyond
It's true: the church is the only organisation that exists for the benefit of those who aren't its members. At home and abroad we seek to share the Good News of Jesus Christ, and work with others in the city and beyond whenever possible. We run Christmas outreaches in the shopping centre; are part of Healing On The Streets in Exeter, Street Pastors, youth work in the city, working with the homeless and work in prisons. We support and are actively involved in other initiatives in the city, e.g. work ICE in schools; FNX - outreach among the city's teenagers; Exeter YMCA; Prison Visiting; Exeter House of Prayer and Chinakidz, a work in China.
Healing on the Streets
The Kingdom of God
Have you ever wondered what would happen if the church left the building and showed up in the community demonstrating the kingdom with compassion and authority?
The Healing on the Streets model is a simple, but beautiful way, to reach out to the lost and hurting on the streets of our city. It enables you to connect with your community every week, powerfully expressing God's love in the market place, whatever the weather. We simply invite people to sit on chairs so we can pray for them.
This gentle ministry works within a loving, and compassionate environment, full of the presence and power of the Holy Spirit. It is marked by a true sense of peace. Amongst the hustle and bustle of busy shoppers, walks the Prince of Peace. Stillness falls; passers-by begin to slow and stop, as the presence of God draws their hearts.
Over time we build relationships, creating stepping stones for people to come to Jesus, and be healed along the way.
Healing on the Streets Exeter is organised in partnership between Exeter Network Church, City Community Church and Exeter Vineyard Church. If you would like to know more please contact Sue Hurrell (HOTS lead for City Community Church only) via email: or phone 01392 462779.

How we reach out and connect to people
Alpha has been one of the most successful means of connecting people back to God or enabling people to see what Christianity really is. We are running an Alpha Group in September 2011, so please contact us or visit our Alpha page!
Our heart is very much to serve others whenever we can! CCC people are deeply involved in serving in Exeter and across the world.
As a church, God has put the nations on our heart. Therefore we want to support those from CCC who are reaching out across the world sharing God's love and his good news. Through prayer, giving and going, we want to strengthen ties with existing friends living on four continents and encourage the church in those countries. A number of individuals are currently serving the Lord from CCC around the world. We currently have families working in Thailand, South Africa and China. Some people from CCC make short term mission trips to various countries globally.
We want to empower one another to be effective witnesses and see these as opportunities to connect with people, show God's love and encourage one another in our workplaces, neighbourhood and homes. We are a kingdom people with a kingdom message.
