City Community Church, Exeter - Divorce Recovery
Is there life after Divorce ?
If you are going through the trauma of divorce or separation, or did some time ago, you may find this course a real help.
“Rebuilding your life after Divorce and Separation” is an 8 week course at Belmont Chapel, Western Way, Exeter held twice a year.
It‘s a great opportunity to meet others going through a similar experience and to gain support, encouragement and keys to moving forward.
People who have been part of the course have commented :
"The sessions were sensitive, validating, I found everyone very real.”
“So helpful to have a place where you can take for granted that people understand the extent of the grief involved, and to be able to share without feeling inappropriate or burdensome”.
“The interviews were honest, moving and have given lots of “food” for reflection”.
Others have said how talking with others who have been there or are still going through divorce has really helped give them hope for the future and often new friends.
When?
The course is on Wednesday evenings at Belmont Chapel, 7:30pm to 9:15 pm and includes sessions covering subjects such as:
- Handling the grief and other emotions
- helping the children cope
- rebuilding self-esteem
- question time with a panel, with a financial adviser, legal adviser and a counsellor.
The interviews with members of the team about what they have found helpful in their journey through divorce are very real and positive.
After this sharing of someone’s story we have a small group discussion time where we can take stock of our experiences, discover and use coping strategies in moving forward.
You and the Divorce Recovery Course
Everyone is welcome to the course and although it is a project of City community Church you do not need to be a church goer, or have a faith to benefit from the course.
We believe there is a healing path that is open to all and have found the course to be very accessible to people from different backgrounds.
